Waterproof Sunblocks For Water Sports

When you love the staying out in the seawater or even in the pool, you should be applying waterproof sunblock. Water can rub the sunscreen off your skin. In such cases, reapplication is needed. Most waterproof sunscreen are also sweatproof. They are mostly formulated for people who are into water sports like surfing, wakeboarding, boogie boarding and others. These athletes usually stay out in the sun longer than everybody else, especially during swell seasons.

Unlike most sunblock, waterproof sunblock don't leave that greasy or sticky feeling on the skin. There is an added ingredient so that the oil or lotion will hold longer on you exposed skin. Antioxidants are often combined in such products. They include vitamin E and C, green tea, sesame seed oil and rice bran oil. They actually slow down the oxidation of the oils or lotions, making them stay on the skin longer.

In selecting waterproof sunblocks, it is strongly suggested to get the highest SPF (45-70). Application and reapplication should be more than average application. Remember that the beach sun is very intense, especially if the sand is white. This is because the sand reflects the sunlight. In turn, it doubles the damaging power of UV rays, not to mention the salty breeze.

Also, don't forget your face. The T-zone should have extra application. You can use sunblock sticks that surfers and tennis players often use. This area include all of the forehead, nose and cheeks. Make sure to apply evenly and thickly as much as possible. Don't forget to protect your lips and eyes. You can get lip care products that contain SPF ingredients. Always wear a sunglasses, caps and other sun protecting clothing. For instance, if you're a surfer, try to wear a long-sleeve rashguard. This will minimize sun exposure.
